Deposit & Withdrawal Fees Compared
The trading fee gets all the attention, but deposit and withdrawal costs decide how much you actually keep. Here is the current picture across US-available exchanges.
How we make money: we earn a commission when you sign up with an
exchange through our links. That never changes what we recommend or how we rank —
rankings follow our published review criteria and are re-checked on a fixed schedule.

Crypto risk: crypto assets are volatile and can lose value, are not FDIC-insured, and are not a bank deposit. This is not financial advice — do your own research before trading.
| Exchange | Deposit | Withdrawal | Deposit cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coinbase | Free for bank transfer / ACH | USDC withdrawals free across all networks; network fee covered by Coinbase for most crypto | Free for bank transfer / ACH |
| Kraken | Free | Network fee only | Free |
| Gemini | Free | Free standard, network fee for crypto | Free |
| Robinhood Crypto | Free | Free network withdrawal where supported | Free |
| Crypto.com | Free | Network fee only | Free |
| Bitstamp | Free | Network fee only | Free |
How to read this
"Free" deposits usually means ACH/bank transfer. Wire transfers and debit/credit cards almost always carry a fee, and crypto withdrawals charge a network (mining) fee that varies with congestion. Always check the exchange's own schedule — these change without notice.
The hidden cost of moving off-platform
If you plan to hold long-term, withdrawal fees matter more than a small trading-fee difference — a costly withdrawal can erase months of saved fees in one move. Compare total cost with our fee estimator.
